If you ever need anyone to just be enthusiastic, Kennedy is your girl. She is the perfect sorority member because she will enthuse about all of the events as though they were The Best Thing Ever. She loves everything that her sorority does and everything girly, like makeup and nail polish and shopping. She is prone to squealing with excitement when things get exciting enough (which is basically always) and she is the best person to just have around when you need a yes man woman. She is the most woo-y of woo girls, so if you go out to a bar, expect to be cheered for while she does shots in a cowgirl hat.

The problem with being enthusiastic is that her enthusiasm often gets her into less than ideal situations. Even though she isn't the brightest crayon in the box, Kennedy is incredibly interested in everything. Talk to her about academics and she'll hate you, but talk about how you feel about academics and she'll be hanging on your every word. She would probably make a good writer with all of the stories she retains from the people she's met, except she does not have any ways with words by any stretch of the imagination and most people that have a brain feel that their IQ is dropping just by being around her.

Kennedy has had a lot of sex and often finds herself roped into more (consensual) situations than she really thinks she should be in. When she finds people interesting, this often leads her to hit on them, which, she finds, often leads to sex, though she isn't really sure how that happens. She doesn't like girls, exactly, but she is willing to do a lot of things to make guys want her and think she's sexy, including pretending to be bi-curious. She doesn't have outrageously low self-esteem, but it certainly isn't high and getting approval from the people who don't give it readily is important to her.

Despite the fact that she is enthusiastic and interested in things, she can be catty. She cares about what she and the people around her look like and she is often unafraid to say point-blank that someone is ugly or not wearing their clothes right. Occasionally, she does this sort of thing with the best intentions--to make someone more beautiful--but other times, she does do it to get a rise out of the person and to get respect from her fellow Sisters. She can be very condescending when it comes to matters that she actually understands and she always strives to be the best, the prettiest, the most desired. Being wanted and valued is important to her and she is unafraid to strive for those things.

Kennedy was not the first child of Eleanor and Kenneth Channing, but she is the child who got blessed with their names. Her older sister was born two years before her and named Marianne, after their paternal grandmother and then her younger sister was born three years after her and named Ava for their maternal grandmother.

Being the middle child was never easy and Kennedy has spent her whole life in competition with her sisters. Marianne was always the pretty one--even as a child, she had a waif-like delicateness that enchanted everyone around her. Ava was the smart one--she never got anything lower than a B in school and she was always correcting people and playing the know it all. Kennedy, on the other hand, was never as pretty and never as smart and it always seemed that she was being pushed to the side. She wasn't the baby, so she could obviously take care of herself, and she wasn't as old as Marianne, so she wasn't achieving anything new and exciting.

So Kennedy went through life always trying to get noticed. She was tall at a young age and always stuck out awkwardly above and around everyone else, something her parents always noticed and teased her for. It was affectionate and Kennedy always laughed because her sisters and everyone else did, but it really got to her, especially when she got older. Children are cruel and her family wasn't the only thing teasing her--in school, she was always picked on for being so gangly and she never felt like she fit in.

In middle school, Kennedy discovered makeup. She and all of her friends may not have been the coolest kids in school, but they were good at making themselves look older and Kennedy, being taller than everyone else (though everyone was catching up) looked the oldest of all. She found that, if she wore short enough shorts and enough eyeliner, she could catch the attention of high school boys.
