Jayden is unsettled by large groups of people. He does better in one-on-one situations, but even then he has some anxiety. He grew up around a very small number of people. Since he was really only around his tutors and his parents people his own age are like unknown creatures. He has always wanted to see what “hanging out” is like and when he got his letter of acceptance to OIU he was so excited for the chance to find out.
Jayden is a very private person. As the only child in his very distant family he grew up keeping everything to himself. His problem isn’t that he won’t talk to people, it simply doesn’t occur to him to open up. Due to this Jayden can seem very closed off, but in reality it simply doesn’t occur to him to include those around him in his activities.
Jayden is also very eager. He honestly enjoys life and does his best to live it to the fullest. His family money certainly helps this along and has opened many doors for him. Jayden has two loves that he uses the money to pursue both.
One thing that Jayden loves is tennis. He devotes all of his extra time to it. His family money made sure he had access to the best teachers as well as a tennis court in the back yard. While Jayden is not competitive in much, he is highly competitive when it comes to tennis. He likes to win by a very large margin and can work himself to the bone training before a match.
Jayden has a lot of energy, although that could be attributed to the fact that he is almost constantly eating or his ADHD. He uses either tennis or running as a way to keep his energy levels under control but his focus is always all over the place. This causes him to have mid-level grades. He works hard trying to get keeps his GPA above a 2.7 but sometimes it slips a little below. He has learned coping mechanisms for studying but sometimes he still becomes frustrated with his inability to focus on school work.
Even with his ADD Jayden loves history and languages, specifically very old languages. He loves learning about the ancient civilizations and life in centuries past. He spends the time when it would be ill-advised to continue doing physical activity learning about these things.
Talents & Skills:
Tennis - Jayden is great at tennis. He plays on a national level.
Dedication - Jayden is very dedicated to the things that are important in his life.
Flexible - Jayden is a go-with-the flow sort of guy about anything but tennis.
Weaknesses:
ADHD - His focus is shot. He has a hard time keeping his mind on one thing at a time.
Closed off - Jayden plays things close to the vest. Not on purpose, but it still hurts him from time to time.
Energetic - There is energetic and then there is energetic. Jayden is energetic or at least unable to stop moving. He just keeps going and going until he collapses or passes out.
Likes: Cherries, Puppies, Blue, Candy, Pacman, and Being barefoot

Tanya Mern grew up with Christopher Badly. Almost at birth was their union decreed by the rich, socialite parents. Neither of them really minded getting married when they were both about 25 as both of them were quite eccentric and knew that marriage would placate their respective parents. So when they got married they bought a large place in a small town in Florida where they could get away from everything. They hired a full staff to run the place year round and gradually they began to visit at the Florahome House more and more frequently until they lived there full time.
Not 3 years after they got married Tanya became pregnant. She and Chris were not unhappy about a child but neither were they ecstatic. They prepared a wing for the baby. As they got closer to the due date they hired a midwife for a home birth and began looking at prospective nannies for their baby. They had no illusions about their ability to raise a child and made the decision to hire someone who could.
On March 27, 1994, Jayden Anthony Bradly, was born.
Jayden had a Nanny for the first 5 years of his life. Her name was Sarah and she was very much like a parent to him. His mother and father tried to be active in his life but they had no clue what to do with a small child or how to interact with him. He wasn’t a hard baby. As toddlers go he didn’t get into places he shouldn’t and he seemed to be in a healthy developmental stage. However he had a lot of energy that Sarah brushed off as childhood exuberance.
Just after Jayden turned five, Christopher decided that it was time for Jayden to have a proper teacher. He hired a woman named Gertrude McGill. She was a middle-aged woman with the intelligence and training for holding just such a position as private tutor. However, Gertrude was no non-sense and would not put up with Jayden’s fidgeting and twitching and general inability to sit still. She only worked for the family for two years and parted with them on good terms.
After Ms. McGill, the next tutor he had was a much nicer and more sensible Mr. Tanner. He was a teacher who believed in physical as well as mental training. One of the first thing he did was have Jayden try out the different sports. That was how, at age 7 Jayden discovered tennis and fell in love.
Mr. Tanner noticed that Jayden was having a hard time focusing and sitting still. Even though Jayden was doing a lot better at it now that he had breaks in between times of studying he still was not functioning were Mr. Tanner believed he could. So Mr. Tanner suggested that he be tested for ADHD just before his 7th birthday and Mr. and Mrs. Bradly decided to allow it. When the results came in it was found that Jayden had a fairly severe case of Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder.
Mr. Tanner continued to teach Jayden until he was 12 years old at which point several tutors of separate classes were hired. He had a teacher for English, History, and Languages, a teacher for Math and Science, and a tennis coach. This was also when his parents had a tennis court built out back, as well as a flat wall for him to bounce balls off of.
At 13 he discovered a love of ancient civilizations and the languages of the world at the hands of one of his teachers. His favorite teacher, however, by far was the tennis coach as Jayden began to toy with idea of competing. He gave it a shot and quickly was moving through the ranks until he was one of the best players in the nation.
While he was growing up there was only one thing he was missing, interaction with those of his own age. His parents didn’t really see the need for ‘playmates’ and even as he grew older he was simply taken to their own events. He even feels very comfortable debating things with people twice his age but he has no knowledge of how to act around young people. When he was applying for colleges he decided he wanted to try going to a place that would hopefully have people of his own age so that he could learn to be like them.
He applied to Orange Island University in the hopes that a beach town would perhaps allow him to slide into the scene of young people without his ADHD acting up to badly as he would have many options for getting his extra energy off. So when he got in he was quite happy and so he packed up his bags and took off for the school.| E X T R A S |
