So you need to live somewhere? This isn't the place to do it--but it is the place that'll help you get there. This is only for people living off-campus who are not going to get assigned housing. If you are a student and would like to live in a dorm [recommended], please click here!
If not, then you've got some options! First, you'll need to decide what part of town to live in--the average side, or the particularly bad side. Most people who live on the bad side are not subjected to much more crime than anywhere else, but the rent there is cheaper and the rooms are usually smaller and older. The cheaper apartments that aren't on the "bad" side are usually not in the best areas, but some people do feel safer for the extra money they spend.
Once you do that, you'll need to decide: apartment or house? Most students and people who don't live with their families live in apartments. Some college students do manage to rent houses with 3-4 other people. If so, it is probably not the nicest house ever. Once you've done that, just read the board descriptions and figure out which place is the best for you! Make sure to read all the info in the thread and then post in that list!
