Coralie always strives for physical beauty and perfection. It’s not just about styles and trends—though those are important, too—, it’s about elegance, grace, and aesthetics. She just wants the world to be a beautiful, more organized place and she is willing to give two hundred percent to make it just so. No task is ever too big for Coralie nor any mountain too tall to climb and she will work relentlessly to achieve whatever it is she's set for herself. Though she is obsessed with her beauty rest and maintaining her perfect complexion [i.e. without baggy circles under her eyes], she's prone to pulling all-nighters to work on designs or clothes. She loves making things and, when it comes to 3D art with practical use, she is top notch. She often makes her own hats and accessories, loving the idea of being one of a kind.
Anyone who met Coralie for a second would be unsurprised that she's dramatic--everything about her is showy and flashy, including her personality. Any small thing that goes wrong is usually instantly declared the Worst Possible Thing and wailed about. She is prone to throwing herself dramatically across the nearest piece of furniture and beating her fists until she's wailed herself consoled. She makes many dramatic gestures and is definitely a hand talker, hardly able to keep still when she speaks words. Everything she does is over the top, especially her affection--she's affectionate with everyone. She likes to use pet names like "dear" and "darling" and she always purrs them. She's a very positive talker and would never say anything cross or get into a fight--being ladylike and polite is of the utmost importance.
That is not to say, however, that she does not complain. If Coralie finds a fault with something, she will say so and expect it to be fixed immediately, especially if it affects her personally. She likes ordering people around and having them at her beck and call and tends to take advantage of people who let her walk all over them and loves people that are doormats. Of course, she'll be the first to tell someone when they're a doormat and should stop, as long as this does not affect her ability to get things--but then again, Coralie loves to be listened to. She loves to feel important and change people's lives. Even if she knows nothing about how to advise someone on a problem, she'll try her best because she cares and because she wants everyone to know just how much she cares about her fellow humans.
Just because she is shallow and self-absorbed, it does not mean that Coralie is a bad person. She's very generous and, when she's not busy ordering bitches around to do things for her, she's willing to do whatever she can for whoever asks. She loves making things for her friends and not just to get their gratitude--though she likes that, too--and she's willing to make a lot of sacrifices if it means making someone else happy. She feels things deeply and sometimes has trouble separating the things she sees from her own emotions and tends to get very emotional about things that she is completely unrelated to. She just wants to help, although often her idea of helping involves bronzer and accessories. Someday, she would like to find a man exactly as she is--perfect, generous, and fashionable. It wouldn't hurt if he was the prince of a small, but rich, country, either.
Talents & Skills: Coralie's biggest talent is making things beautiful and making beautiful things. She loves clothes, whether it's designing and making them herself or just putting outfits together and she is the best at picking out the best clothes for other people. She is a master organizer and you will never find her with a single thing out of place, other than in her specified brainstorming areas. She is forever polite and ladylike and will only raise her voice when necessary. She'd much rather kill a person with kindness than insult them. She has a way with words and can get her way just by talking and batting her eyelashes about 97 percent of the time.
Weaknesses: Coralie has a flair for drama and tends to turn every tiny situation into a Big Deal. She is prone to wallowing in self-pity for silly reasons, like a broken nail or a typo, and is rarely consoleable without being distracted. She is extremely critical of everything and everyone around her, since she wants the world to be beautiful, and she can often be condescending. She loves being adored and tends to take advantage of people who adore her--especially boys. Having to cook is probably her worst nightmare because she would get food all over her and it wouldn't even taste good.

Coralie was born into a tragically unfashionable family. Even at twenty-five, when his daughter was born, Robert Diamond had already begun wearing tucked in Hawaiian shirts and socks with sandals. He and his wife, Claire, had just moved from Montreal down to Florida and didn't have much of a clue how to fit in. Claire was prone to shapeless, sleeveless maxi dresses, despite having a nice figure until she got pregnant. Both of them dressed for comfort, not style, and tried very hard to fit with the idea they had that all Floridians were laid back and spent their time dressing for the beach, an idea they have yet to relinquish.
As such, Coralie was a very practically dressed baby. Like any infant, she wore onesies and was cute in them, but there was no effort put forth unless the onesie had been a gift and there were no accessories added. As she grew, the fashion got worse, especially after the years of adorable toddler clothes. Her worst memory of her childhood is starting kindergarten in a white tee and brown smock with her brand new light-up off-brand sneakers. Though none of the children openly mocked her, Coralie has lived with the almost certain knowledge that they were all thinking ridiculing thoughts.
Despite her unfortunate wardrobe, Coralie was a loved and supported child. Her parents encouraged and praised everything she did, from coloring to gold stickers. Having had the best manners instilled in her as soon as she could talk, Coralie was always a perfectly polite child and a favorite among teachers, as well as her peers. She was never bossy, though she always seemed to be the leader of her friend groups. It was always very easy for her to get her way with people because, even in her mismatched, shapeless clothes, she was a preciously adorable child.
Being the apple of her parents' eye was always something that Coralie loved and so she was none too thrilled when they announced that her mother was pregnant with her future baby sister. It was announced on the Christmas after her eighth birthday and Coralie was convinced that it was the worst present anyone had ever given her. Her parents were supportive of her emotions, as always, but since the baby wasn't something that could be changed, they focused most of their energies on trying to make Coralie see the bright side. Eventually, Coralie came to realize that a new baby sister meant someone to love and care for and show the ropes--and play with like a doll.
Thus, when Isabelle--Belle--was born, Coralie was the most excited of all. The only problem was that this new baby was not exactly doll material--she cried, she pooped, and she couldn't do anything without drooling or spitting. Coralie refused to change diapers--which was okay with her parents, since she was young and it was probably better that way--but once Belle was potty trained, Coralie started to see the light again.
When Belle was two, she started an interest in dolls. Coralie hadn't played with her Barbies for a few years, but with a child to play with [even one that she had to keep all the small pieces away from], Coralie took to dolls again like a fish to water. With dolls, she could have things that matched and pick out all the best clothes. Unlike most of her friends, Coralie only had three Barbies, but she had closets for those Barbie that could rival a fashion model's. When she was ten, her mother decided that they should enroll in a sewing class.
This was Coralie's life calling. She had always been good at three dimensional art, like clay and sculptures, and she excelled at sewing. She learned even faster than her mother did and, even though she was only ten, she was an expert at every technique almost as soon as she learned it. Even the more complicated things were hardly a problem for Coralie and her eye for fashion and stitching. Her mother wouldn't have kept sewing with her, but it was such a good bonding experience for the two of them that they both continued sewing lessons as the years went by.
By the time Coralie was fourteen, she was the youngest fashion expert she knew. She knew everything about fabric and thread that she could and was always learning new things. She followed fashion magazines and tv shows like a religion and was definitely the most fabulous of her friends, especially since she was only in eighth grade and middle schoolers don't dress like models. She had a tiny closet of handmade Barbie clothes that she made every time she wanted to practice something, though making the miniatures was actually difficult than making the regular sizes--it was, however, cheaper.
The summer before high school, Coralie decided that she was never going to wear horrible, utilitarian clothes again and found herself a new wardrobe. It was a small wardrobe, since she was only given a small sum of money to fund this, and most of it was purchased from sales racks and thrift stores [paces now that Coralie will neither shop in or admit to doing so]. It grew with time, as did Coralie's confidence, ability to wear makeup, and popularity. While she had always been charming and sweet looking, she hadn't always been quite this fabulous and she found that boys started flocking to her, especially when she batted her eyelashes.
Coralie went through boys in high school like underwear. She never really liked any of them and she never really did anything with them, but she loved being adored and having a muscle that would do whatever she asked it to. Often, she dated the geeks and boys who had less attention paid to them, just so they would worship her more. A lot of times, she didn't even date them, she just sort of had them. No one ever complained, really, because they were all under Coralie's spell--her huge personality tended to have that effect on people.
When it finally came time to apply to colleges, Coralie was ecstatic. Finally, the chance to stop taking stupid classes--like English and history--and start taking awesome ones, like fashion and sewing. She wanted to go to NYC, but the problem was money. She and her family lived comfortably enough, but going to a place that far away was going to cost and it would jeopardize Belle's chances at going to a good college. Coralie knew that she could move to New York any time she wanted after graduation and she would always be sewing, so she applied to all of the schools in Florida.
Because she had pretty good grades, she got in everywhere she applied. She had done the college tour thing like everyone else, but she didn't really know where to go. Her decision was made by the beach and her adoration for sun hats--the perfect place to go and wear her favorite thing ever was a place where it was always sunny.
For her first semester, she didn't have a job and spending money was difficult to come by. She started selling her Barbie clothes online. It hurt, but her Barbie wardrobe could have filled an entire suitcase at least, so she managed to find some to part with. This raked in a good living for a college student and so Coralie started moving on to other doll clothes, doll clothes for people with dolls they obsessed over far more than people obsessed over Barbies. With this under her belt and on her resume, as well as a fashion merchandising teacher with excellent connections, Coralie managed to get a job at Cherie, the classiest, most expensive boutique in town. It was there that she really started being able to compile her designer wardrobe--with her employee discount and paycheck in addition to the clothes she made selling, she could afford most things there.
Since Coralie loves being around people and in excitement, she rushed a sorority her first semester as well. Even though she has that commitment, she has always been a hard worker--it helps that she doesn't live in the sorority house, preferring to have one roommate instead of forty.| E X T R A S |
-Coralie is obsessed with hats--the bigger, the better. She has a hat for every occasion and if you dare to comment it in any way other than positively, she will destroy you. If you want to get in her good graces, compliment her hats. She also does not care about temperature when it comes to her dress--if she wants to wear an adorable coat, she will wear an adorable coat, dammit.
-Coralie takes astrology to heart, as well, and as a Libra [oct 20], is always on the search for her perfect match.
-She is 5'6, the perfect height for a lady.
-She displays all of her dolls on her dresser. They change outfits more frequently than anyone's dolls should.
