THE RULES
GENERAL
1. Once your application has been accepted [see below for app rules], post in the reference lists [character reference, face claim, who's who, etc]. Please do not post before you are accepted. This does not mean that we have to add your name to the lists before you start RPing. Feel free to hop to RPing as soon as we've accepted and sorted your app :]
2. Be polite OOC. Do not be rude to people in the cbox, don't badger members or guests or admins.
3. Please don't alert admins to your finished application, other than to bump your finished thread once. We see it, we promise :]
4. Do not stretch the board. Signatures should not be more than 450 pixels and should be NO TALLER than 275. No images should be wider than 450 pixels. Avatars must be 100 x 100.
5. Do not use any unreadable fonts. Please do not post in italics/bold/underline unless grammatically necessary.
POSTING
1. No powerplaying or god-modding unless permission by the other character is given. This includes general omniscience--as in, your character cannot know what the other character is thinking unless the other character has given an obvious signal or said it out loud. Just because a player has written it in a post, does not mean that it is general knowledge.
2. Per the Proboards ToS, we do not allow explicit content. This site is PG-13.
3. There is no word count for in character posts. We all know how to write here and don't need to brag by only writing posts that are 500+ words. Sometimes, a conversation is just a conversation.
4. Write all posts and applications in third person.
CHARACTERS
1. When registering, your username can be whatever you want, but you must change your display name to your character's name in all lowercase. Please include either the middle name or middle initial. This must happen before an admin will accept your application.
2. There is one character per account. You can have as many characters as you want, but each must be on its own account.
3. Use the Provided Application. Do not change it in any way. The application has a suggested wordcount, but we are looking for an in-depth character, so just because you hit it, doesn't mean it'll be accepted. We think about your character when we read your application and we want to see that you have, too.
4. You must have a play-by [pb].
5. Your pb must be a person. It doesn't matter who or from where, but it must be an actual human that is not yet being used.
6. When naming your character, please do not repeat names that anyone else is using [unless it's just middle] and also do not make it too unrealistic. We all realize that RP characters are everyone's way to get the names they would never plague their children with out of their system, but there is a point where it goes too far and an admin will ask you to change it.
