Will is a jokester. He is extremely sarcastic and witty and has a smart aleck response for pretty much everything. He does not have much of a filter between his mouth and his mind, so he tends to get himself in a bit of trouble at times. Will is a smooth talker and believes he can talk his way into and out of anything. He is extremely outgoing and loves talking to people, especially females.
Will sort of fell into his career path. Having a father in law enforcement meant that Will grew up around crime and cops and the law in general. However, instead of following the “right” path (which, according to his father, was becoming a cop), Will decided to use his knowledge of the law to get into trouble…and talk his way out of it. He had known from the very beginning that he was highly observant, and nothing gave him more glee than showing up detectives. After being threatened with legal action for interfering with an investigation for the fourth time, Will decided that he would just cut his losses and become a private investigator in his own office. He dragged his best friend into it because a) they do everything together and b) his best friend can take care of the boring legalities and financial obligations Will has no patience for.
A talker by nature, Will loves meeting and chatting with people. He finds talking with clients to be the best part of working, and it comes naturally to him. He tries to connect with people within the first few minutes that he meets them, because that is just the way he works. His father, Spencer, has tried to teach him about people who lie and all that police stuff, but all it has done is given Will strategies to use when he creates his own “fables”. When it comes to his cases, he does things his own way--and tends to get into trouble because of it.
Will is a big fan of the opposite sex, and his smooth talking and charisma definitely feeds into this. He is a serial dater and has a very hard time staying in long-term relationships. He gets bored very easily and tends to bounce from one type of woman to another. He tries not to hurt them, but nine times out of ten he is doing the dumping, and feelings cannot always be spared. Will has no preferences in terms of girls, so long as they are not underage and are fairly attractive. He may love the ladies, but he will drop them for one of his guy friends, because he believes in “bros before hos”. For the most part.
Even thought he is very highly observant, Will has the attention span of a gnat. He will do fifty different things at once and completely forget about most of them. He is very easily distracted and has a terrible difficulty with concentration. This is where his best friend comes in; Drake can nag Will into actually focusing for more than ten seconds at a time. Without his best friend, Will would probably be homeless, poor, or in jail.
Strengths: Creativity. It takes a very creative mind to come up with the sort of BS Will can strike up. He can create a believable back-story to pretty much anything. If only he used that power for good…
Charisma. Love him or hate him, Will is one charming little bugger. He can talk his way into or out of most situations, and has the ability to make people feel at ease with him fairly quickly.
Intelligence. Will may be a bit of a slacker, but he is highly intelligent. He gets bored easily unless his mind is entertained, which is why he tends to get himself into trouble on a regular basis.
Weaknesses: Confidence. Will’s confidence borders on arrogance. He thinks that he is so much smarter than any cop or detective possible. He also thinks he’s the most suave person out there, and he also thinks that everyone falls for his charm. Which is not true, sad to say.
Flakiness. Will is not very good at commitment. He has an incredibly short attention span and tends to leave things unfinished, relationships included.
Listening. More than the “typical” man, Will is an absolutely dreadful listener. He tries, but he soon thinks he knows what is best for whomever he is talking to and immediately tells them what he thinks. Naturally this irritates people often.
Likes: Women, 80’s music, 80’s movies, hanging with his best friend, any sort of food, being right, obscure references, silly nicknames, tropical fruits, shiny objects.
Dislikes: Being told what to do, cops, his father, sitting around, people with no sense of humor, being proven wrong, listening for extended periods, paying attention, being bored.

William Dane Baxter was born to Spencer and Jane Baxter, and he was their only child. Will spent the first fifteen years of his life in Santa Barbara, California. When he was fifteen, his mother died in a robbery and his father promptly quit the police force in Santa Barbara. Spencer decided that life in California was too rough for his son, and the pair moved all the way across the country to Orange Island, Florida. Needless to say, Will was not very happy with the move. He was never really close to his father and partly blamed him for his mother’s death, even though Spencer was not on duty and could have done nothing to prevent it. The move prompted Will to rebel, becoming more of a smart aleck and free spirit than before. He skipped class, flitted from job to job, and even stole his father’s car once or twice. Spencer was exasperated and finally laid down the law to his son: either he could go to the local college, or he had to find his own money, own apartment, and own job.
Will did not particularly like the sound of a full-time job with responsibilities, so he took Spencer’s offer and went to college. He switched his major a total of nine times in his freshman year before his academic advisor grew irritated with him and suggested liberal arts. It was not until he was on his way to sweet-talk a professor into giving him more time on a paper and passed a criminal justice class that he realized what he wanted to major in. Spencer was so thrilled (and under the impression that Will would follow his footsteps into the police academy) that he not only agreed to pay for the rest of Will’s undergraduate degree, but he would also pay to send Will to graduate school.
Shocked and horrified, Will flat-out refused. He messed around instead of working and, when he could have easily graduated first, graduated in the middle of his class just to annoy his father. Spencer has never let him live it down, and Will could care less.
Once Will graduated, he went right back to his time-wasting habits. He got and quit a long list of entry-level jobs, and began pestering the police department and their detectives. When threatened not one but four times with arrest for interfering with a police investigation, Will bit the bullet and opened his own agency with his best friend, Drake. He now enjoys making his own schedule, being as lazy as he wants, and showing up the Orange Island Police Department on a regular basis.| A P P E A R A N C E |
Will is about 6’2” and pretty fit. He is always in jeans and a t-shirt or button-down, unless he’s forced to dress up or finds a way to make a crazy costume work to his advantage. Will pretty much always has a smirk on his face, and he leans against tables/counters/walls with his hands in his pockets.
Will always has a necklace on, and its design varies. He has a tattoo on his upper right shoulder of a tribal symbol. It has a specific meaning, but Will lies and claims he cannot remember what it was supposed to symbolize. He usually has stubble on his face because most of the time he is too lazy to shave, and he thinks it gives him a “rugged” look. He never wears a watch and never knows what time it is.

Though she may have packed every dance outfit she could possibly use, Emily hadn't quite thought of everything for college. Her deficiencies, however, were not material. She didn't think about where she would put her suitcases and boxes after she unpacked them in her tiny dorm room. She hadn't planned for whether her classes would be easy to walk between or if she would have to run from one side of campus to the other to make it on time. She hadn't planned on how to keep from losing her student ID, or where she would even keep it on her person. And, what seemed to be the most troubling of all, where she would sit in the dining hall.
Now for most people who had any sort of social skills, plunking down at a table of people who looked to be as intimidated as you would be the perfect solution, and a great way to make friends. Emily was so inarticulate and shy that she was sure the other freshmen would laugh at her and scoff if she tried to sit with them. The mere thought brought chills and goosebumps. No, sitting at a table when other people were there first would be certain suicide.
This left Emily standing in the middle of the dining hall with her tray in hand, biting her lip and glancing from table to table. MMU may have been a small school, but their dining hall was miniscule. It seemed as if each table had at least three occupants at it. How was she to ever eat if this is how it was all the time? Taking food back to her room would make her look like some antisocial freak with an eating disorder. For the first time she could ever remember, Emily longed for the awkward yet normal silence of her family table, where her father read the paper or didn't come to dinner at all and her mother picked at her food before going into the kitchen to scrub the counters with a toothbrush. Emily was often left alone to daydream or whatever she pleased.
Squeaking chairs pulled Emily out of her reverie and she noticed a table clearing. She kicked into high gear and made a beeline for it, her longer legs making the trip fairly quickly. She plopped herself down in the corner, set her food down, and spread out her water and silverware, effectively claiming her spot. Her shoulders relaxed as she breathed a sigh of relief. See? That wasn't so bad.| P L A Y E R |
